Lost

Over the last weeks I was watching all the seasons of Lost, that’s 83 episodes over four seasons. Season 5 is starting in February ‘09.

I remember watching Lost a few years ago when it originally came out on TV, but the adverts and the constant cliffhangers annoyed me and I lost interest somwhere at the end of the first season. Having watched all the seasons thus far and having read a lot of Lostpedia it makes me wonder if season 1 wasn’t actually the best season..

I’m not sure if I like Lost. In parts it reminds me far too much of Alias [yes, I know it was the same guy who made them] and the supernatural aspects just ruined it for me. Maybe I just wanted different things from this which involved things like them forming a community. But instead it’s got the DHARMA initiative, the others, the natives, the tail section and a seemingly unlimited amount of guns & ammunition. Or evil people like Ben Linus who is so very much like Arvin Sloane from Alias.

I guess I miss things like strangers becoming family from Firefly or I just don’t believe the tings in Lost can actually happen. So far the series has spanned 108 days and in this time people have been injured many times or run all the way across the island and back which in their own accord takes two days walk.

I’ll carry on watching Lost, but it’s in no way what it could have been, it’s an all right show, but nothing special.
